Paying Special Rates for Weather-Cancelled Games
When a game is cancelled at the last minute due to weather, you may still need to compensate your officials for their time and travel. ASM handles this through the Weather game status: you configure reduced pay rates once, mark affected games as Weather, and the Admin Pay Report applies the correct amounts automatically.
Step 1: Configure Weather Pay Rates
Weather rates are set in the same Pay Matrix where you configure normal pay.
- Go to Administration → Leagues
- Click Edit on the league whose rates you want to configure
- Expand the Pay section
- Click Open Pay Matrix
In the Pay Matrix:
- Use the Game Status dropdown at the top-right and select Weather
- Switch between the Officials / Scorekeepers / Supervisors tabs and enter the reduced dollar amounts for each position and crew size you use
- Click Apply to stage the changes
- Click Save on the league dialog to persist them
Important: There is no automatic half-rate calculation. You type the dollar amounts manually. If your policy is half-rate, enter $30 where the normal rate is $60. Every amount is whatever you decide.
Warning: Any Weather rate cell left blank pays $0. It does not fall back to the Normal rate. Fill in every combination your league actually uses.
Step 2: Set a Game's Status to Weather
Once weather rates are configured, apply them to individual games:
- Go to Administration → Master Schedule
- Find the affected game and open its menu (three-dot icon)
- Click Cancel
- Choose Weather as the cancellation reason
Alternatively, click Edit on the game card, go to Game Details, set Game Status to Weather, and save.
Important: Until you publish the change, it's a draft and won't flow to the Pay Report. Click Publish Changes to make it live.
You can publish individual games with the Save option in the game card menu, or use the Publish button at the bottom of the Master Schedule to publish multiple games at once.
Step 3: Verify on the Admin Pay Report
After publishing, confirm the correct amounts appear:
- Go to Administration → Reports → Pay Report
- Generate the report for the relevant date range
- Weather-cancelled games will show the reduced amounts you configured in the Pay Matrix
